Bvute was born and spent his childhood in the rural Honde Valley area of Manicaland Province in Eastern Zimbabwe on the border with Mozambique. His childhood in the naturally and culturally rich Honde Valley made a lasting impact on his life as detailed in his autobiography. Interest in writing developed late in his life, only publishing his first book, the autobiography four years after taking early retirement. The motivations for writing each of his three published books are given in their respective prefaces.

Education and Training
Bvute completed his primary education at St Peter’s Mission Primary School in Honde Valley before proceeding to secondary school at St Mary Magdalene’s in the Nyanga area of the same Province. Following disruption to his secondary school education during Zimbabwe’s (then Rhodesia) civil war of the mid to late 1970s, he was forced to join his parental family, which had already moved to Salisbury (now Harare) as Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). There, he completed his secondary school education.
